DO NOT USE THIS METER
I am having many problems with my blood sugar meter. I am too busy to look up the laws on this stuff, but all I am going to say is don't use the I Touch brand of meters. That is not their real name, but I believe there is a law against using their real name. I have had my (Expensive) meter replaced about 6 times. I have sent a letter each time asking for a response but I never get one. I called them 2 weeks ago and they said they would "Rush" a new meter to me, and I finally received the "NEXT DAY DELIVERY" two weeks late! So before you get the cool new meter, look more at the reviews. I could not find a review tab on their webpage, so I am using the next best thing.

How was I diagnosed?
I found out that I had diabetes when I was on Vacation. Before I left for Florida in March, my New Year Resolution was to loose weight, so all I drank was water, and a lot of it. I enrolled in weight loss programs at my local Y, and lost about 1/2lbs a day. (On average) so I am soon going from 200lb down down and down. I am not thinking much of it because I worked out all the time. Also, I had to go to the bathroom all the time, but again, I thought nothing of it because I was drinking a lot of water. So in March we go down to Florida and I didn't eat a single thing, I spend the whole time sleeping, and as a last minute surprise we go to Universal Studios. When we are there, I could not walk more than 100 feet with out stopping. I fell asleep on every ride because I did not have to do anything. At lunch, I drank 4 Extra Large Mountain Dews and threw up several times. So- we went back to the condo. On the way to Orlando Airport, I threw up 2 times at the airport, and on the plane I threw up 4 times. When we landed, I got a Gatorade and threw up again. When we got to town I went to the local Walk in Clinic, and they checked my blood sugar, it was over 1,000. I was on two IV drips and sent to the ER. When I got there, Dad was already waiting with my dog, so that was the only highlight of the vacation. After a 2 hour wait in the ER, I was sent down to another hospital where I was officially diagnosed with T1. Share your story! Comment Below!

What is Type One, Type One and a Half, Type Two, Type Three Diabetes?
Type One Diabetes: This is a disease that you can NEVER out grow. You are stuck with it for the rest of your life. These people are the ones who need a CURE for diabetes the most. T1 is treated with Insulin, Diet, and activity. You get this in your genes.
Type One & Half Diabetes: This is VERY RARE. I am a Type 1 1/2 diabetic. This is when you have a mixture of T1, and T2, but can never get rid of.
Type Two Diabetes: This is a disease that you CAN get rid of. This is when you need to loose weight. T2 is treated with Pills, Diet, and Activity.
Type Three Diabetes: This is "not official" but direct family members of diabetics are considered T3.

Intro
Hi, my name is Derek, and I have Type One Diabetes. I was diagnosed with this on March 3 of 2009. We knew there was somthing wrong when I would not go on any of the rides at Universal Studios, and there was this weird fruity smell when we got back into town. I went to the local Walk In Clinic, then transfered to the ER. Eventually, I went down to Childrens Hospital. This is my brief story, right now I will be getting more into it when I have more time. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.
